What is QR Code Scanner?

QR Code Scanner reads QR codes in real time from your device camera, or decodes them from uploaded image files — entirely within your browser.

Because everything runs locally, the camera feed and any image data never leave your device.

FAQ

What types of QR codes are supported?

The scanner supports URLs, plain text, email addresses, phone numbers, Wi-Fi credentials (WPA/WPA2), vCards, and any other standard QR code content.

Can I use this without a camera?

Yes. Switch to the "Scan from Image File" tab to decode a QR code from a saved screenshot or photo file without needing a camera.

Is my camera feed or image data sent to a server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is transmitted to external servers.

Does this work on mobile?

Yes. The tool works in mobile browsers and automatically requests the rear-facing camera for easier scanning.

Can I choose between front and rear cameras?

Yes. After starting the camera, a dropdown appears that lets you switch between all available cameras on your device.
